Discipleship

1 Thessalonians – A Pattern for Disciple Making

As people engage in the ministry of disciple making, they often ask, “So what do I teach others? Where do I start?”

Why not start where the apostle Paul started?

Most of Paul’s epistles were written to established churches to address dangerous heresy, persistent conflict, rich doctrine and extensive ministry principles. His letter to the Thessalonians reveals the love and concern of a father for his own spiritual children. He encourages, teaches and charges them to trust God as they learn to follow Jesus in a morally bankrupt and spiritually resistant culture. His intent is to establish them in their newfound faith.

First Thessalonians is about the heart of a discipler, the foundational spiritual needs of believers and the resulting reproduction of ministry. It is a pattern of disciple making for 21st Century believers.
